Harold Grifhorst started "rolling away" houses in 1954 when he got himself into the house-moving business almost by accident.

 

He had bought two houses from the state which had to be moved because they were in the way of a new highway, and he became so interested with moving that he bought the struggling moving company the next week.

After that, Harold moved on the average of 25 houses a year. 

 

Rollaway has been operating now for 65 years and is now run by second and third generations.
